How quickly will I be up and running once I have signed on with HitPath?
Generally we have our customers fully running within 7-10 business days after they have submitted their welcome package. We don't believe in a one size fits all solution and custom integrate every client that signs on to HitPath so that the transition is seamless. This includes a brand new install on brand new hardware, quality control checks, and full site integration.Back To Top
How Customizable is the HitPath Interface?
The HitPath software consists of two parts, the affiliate/advertiser front end and the network administration back end, both of which are white labeled. The back end is branded with your corporate logo and includes different layouts to help accommodate screen width which can be configured by the individual user.
The front end is a fully integrated website built to match your site's branding. More than just a header image and footer disclaimer, we can wrap the entire application within a layout identical to your site (though we prefer widths of more than 1024 pixels). While every aspect of the application can be styled, the general functionality is similar for all HitPath Networks.

Why does my test click not show up in global sales?
If you have just run a test by clicking on an affiliate link, you'll be sure to want to see that click being registered in your HitPath admin's reporting area – just to verify that your campaign traffic will track correctly. You know you have created a click because you saw the hit ID appended on to the landing page URL when you clicked through, but you can't find any record of it in Global Sales. There is a simple explanation. The Global Sales report is designed to be a summary that instantaneously displays at-a-glance info on launch. With potentially millions of records to be queried, if this were a real-time report it might take 30 seconds to load! So we prefer to give you an instant answer to your query when you want to see general information about how your campaigns are performing; how many clicks, how many sales and conversion rates etc. That said, any time you click to launch a clicks or sales detail report, you will have access to real-time data. To do so, simply click on the underlined number that interests you in either the clicks or sales column in Global Sales. A “snapshot” report will launch in a pop-up browser window.Back To Top
It looks like my campaign is not tracking what could be wrong?
Two of the most common errors with campaign set-up are easily avoided:First always ensure that you have included the HitPath dynamic parameter in your redirect link, so that the advertiser has access to the unique click identifiers in HitPath – we refer to these as hit IDs. That way he can insert this value into the pixel on the confirmation page when a transaction occurs, and thus report sales back to your HitPath system.
Secondly errors in pixel structure caused - for example by typos - may stop sales being able to be reported by the pixel. Cookie tracking is always enabled as a fall-back, but you should probably verify the campaign ID in the pixel you sent to your advertiser against the true campaign ID in your system, then double-check with him/her to ensure that this pixel has been correctly placed on the offer confirmation page. Additionally it is not unheard of that the “affiliate.tracker” URL inside the pixel does not match the confirmation page in terms of http or https (unsecured vs secure).
For specific details on the above, please contact HitPath support.

Why does the click ID not display in the address bar, after I click on an affiliate link?
Sometimes you will have correctly ensured that you have included HitPath dynamic parameter in your redirection link that performs the function of redirecting traffic to the offer landing page, but when you run a test click, you don't see the 9 digit hit ID integer appended onto the URL of that landing page. This could be a sign that the offer is brokered and there is a further redirection in the chain before the landing page is reached. If this information is being dropped, please contact the person who is making the campaign available to your network. Most likely they will be able to tell you how they need to receive the hit ID to be able to pass it through to the landing page.Back To Top

Just getting started in Performance Marketing? Here are a few answers to point you in the right direction.
- What is Perfomance Marketing?
- How do I get started in Performance Marketing?
- What is Pixel Tracking?
- Am I an advertiser/merchant or an affiliate?
What is Performance Marketing?
Performance Marketing is a no-risk referral-based, revenue-sharing marketing strategy, in which you (a Merchant) pay your Affiliates a commission for referring business to your website. You do not pay for advertising with their Affiliates - you only pay when a sale, lead, download, subscription or other desired action occurs.
An example:
A webmaster signs up as a new affiliate in your HitPath powered performance marketing network. He gets his affiliate login ID and username and password to be able to log in to the affiliate interface.
He then logs in to his affiliate administration page, and collects some marketing material for his site (including perhaps an email creative, couple of banners of varying sizes, specific links to use on search engine marketing, etc...). He then starts to market using this material.
A visitor opens an email, banner, pop-up, or clicks on a search result link in Google, etc... then clicks through to your website. The visitor decides to purchase the product or sign up for services advertised on the website.
Your HitPath powered performance marketing network then recognizes that the sale was referred by the affiliate, so it credits the affiliate's account with a commission.

Am I an advertiser/merchant or an affiliate?
With all of the online marketing buzz words being thrown around - it can start to get a little confusing. So, we understand that you may be sitting back thinking, 'Am I an advertiser/merchant or am I an affiliate?'The Affiliate Marketing encyclopedia, Affilipedia.com, describes the terms merchant and affiliate in the following way:
Advertiser/Merchant is an online business that markets and sells goods or services. Advertisers/Merchants establish affiliate programs as a cost effective method to get consumers to purchase a product, register for a service, fill out a form, or visit a Web site.
Affiliate is a Web site owner that earns a commission for referring clicks, leads, or sales to an Advertiser/Merchant. 'Affiliate' is a group or person officially linked to an organization.
If you have a website on which you sell something or through which you accept leads and you'd like to pay other website owners, bloggers and email list owners for sending you sales or leads - you are an Advertiser/Merchant.
If you have a website, a blog or an email list that you'd like to use to generate interest in specific merchants, products or services and you'd like to earn commissions by sending your contacts to those merchants - you are an affiliate.
If you are still asking yourself whether you're an Advertiser/Merchant or an affiliate, you may actually be both. There are several Advertisers/Merchants that have affiliate programs, receive traffic from affiliates, give affiliates commissions for the transactions they refer AND they themselves refer traffic to other Advertisers/Merchants in return for commissions on the transactions made by those visitors.
